ISTE Coaching Standards (2014)

I feel like this standard and the Digital Citizenship Standard 5c really go hand in hand. In that page, I described how my students used writing to assume professional roles, research real-world problems, collaborate with others, and produce products that are meaningful and useful to a wide audience. In my work, I have been asked by other 6th grade teachers on my team to help them with these writing projects. Teachers and students have reported to me how happy and successful they have been in writing to professionals.

In my roles as a coach, I have introduced teachers and librarians to Skype in the Classroom, as well as shown them how to add a guest speaker to their Flipgrids using guestmode. These are two ways that teachers can bring in authentic speakers with knowledge of the content.
